MAIDENS NEEDS THE GHANAIAN SUPPORT FOR SUCCESS-BABA NUHU MALLAM
03 October, 2012
The equipment Manager of the National U-17 female team the Black Maidens, Mr. Baba Nuhu Mallam has told tufaghanafc.com that the team needs the spiritual support of Ghanaians, as they play a crucial match against Japan in the Quarter finals of the women world cup competition in Azerbaijan on Friday.
Mr. Mallam noted that, the morale in camp is high following the team’s excellent performance in the group matches where they lost painfully to Germany in the opening match but made amends when they strolled pastUruguay and China by 5-0 and 2-0 respectively to reach the quarter finals.
‘The technical team led by Coach Didi Dramani is a motivation to the players but since there is some aspect of luck in football, our chances to progress to the semis will largely depend on your prayers back home’ Mr. Mallam said.
Meanwhile, Coach Mashud Dramani is expected to play his regular cards that includes Tamale base trio Sherifatu Sumaila, Abdul Rahman Samira and Abdul Rahman Rashida in tomorrow’s match against the hard running Japanese team.
The contingent has since moved from its based at Sheraton Airport Hotel to a more luxurious JW Marriott Absheron Hotel in the capital city of Baku.
