Asamoah Gyan and Dede Ayew coming for the peace event
All is set for the big event as Tamale Utrecht Football Academy and others pave way for a congregation of football legends in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale for a peace event dubbed ‘One Ghana, Goals for peace’ on Monday.
The project, under the initiative of the CEO of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Mr. Abdulai Alhassan (Abu Imoro) is bringing together football legends to promote peace in the Northern Regions ahead of the 2012 general elections.
The one-time event will be a history record making event in sports as Tamale will be in the spot light to host international stars like Togolese international and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, African highest paid star and Ghanaian international Asamoah Gyan, the captain of the Black Stars John Mensah and Former captains of France and Ghana, Marcel Desailly and Stephen Appiah respectively who are all visiting the land of shea nuts for the first time to promote peace.
The star studded event that is also being supported by Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), LUKEDERM Consult and the National commission for Civic Education (NCCE) shall witness other Black Star players like the Ayew Brothers, Daniel Opare, John Boye and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu who is about completing a move to Italian giants Juventus.Other supporting companies include Right to play, Cowbell, Starbow airlines, Organisation of African Developement (OAD), Mark Seven consultancy, and discovery hotel.
RTU coach and former Black Stars player Mohammed Gargo, Mohammed Choo, Mubarak Wakaso and Berekum chealsea star Emmanuel Clottey among other retired players shall be participating in the big event.
