Jafaru and Ibrahim in Utrecht
23rd of April, 2011
The first together working of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy and its back bone, FC Utrecht in Holland has made a next step when two youth players of TUFA left Ghana Wednesday night the 20th of April to Holland for an internship program in the youth teams of FC Utrecht. The two players are Jafaru A. Somed (right/central attack, 19) who will be training with the reserve team whiles Adam Ibrahim (left back/left midfield, 17) will train with the under 17 team. The aim of the internship is to grant the players the opportunity to experience what it is like to train with a professional football club in Europe and to learn as well.
Adam Ibrahim joined his group for a fun day when they visited the swimming pool on the 22nd of April and started training the following day the 23rd of April, whiles Jafaru started with the group on Sunday the 24th of April. The players are staying with host families to get a real taste of the Dutch culture.
Jafaru: "I feel privileged to be here. The Utrecht staff is very welcoming and the host family is great. I am exited to start my training program today and also quite happy about the weather." Ibrahim: "This is a great experience and on behalf of all the players of TUFA we thank the Utrecht staff for receiving us."
