TUFA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR CALLS FOR MORE FOOTBALL ACADEMIES IN GHANA

The Technical Director of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Baba Nuhu Malam has called for the establishment of more Football Academies in Ghana after supervising the scouting of new generation of talents for TUFA.

Speaking to tufaghanafc.com ahead of their final tour of the Northern region in search of young talents, Baba Nuhu said” with the increasing demand for well bred footballers around the world, the potentials of young and talented Ghanaian boys and girls must be tapped and refined. To this end, soccer academies play key roles”:

He said” soccer academies provide youngsters across the country with opportunities to participate in supervised training sessions as well as matches and tournaments with other sides from elsewhere” Naturally one is born with the in-born ability to perform special skills, but continues practice, particularly in the case football, equips him/ her with techniques for development.

Baba Nuhu Malam also re-iterated the need to check the age group of footballers for development. He said” the age groups of our footballing youth ought to be given careful consideration in their training. The ages between five and eleven usually make for an ideal start as young ones tend to be more receptive during such stages.

He concluded by saying emphasis should be placed on the importance of acquiring basic skills and mastery on the ball. Coaches must therefore ensure each player has rewarding experience in either regard.

TUFA is expected to wrap up their search for new talents before the end of this month.
