SALIFU NUHU SAYS HE SHOULD HAVE WON BEST PLAYER AWARD
7th April, 2014
Tamale Utrecht top scorer, Salifu Nuhu has blasted the selection system for the TUFA best player of the year and claimed that he was more deserving of the award than winner Ibrahim Fuseini[Nyaya] because he had all the qualities to be picked in the 2013/2014 Division one league.
Ibrahim Fuseini beat off competition from team mates Baba Mubarak and striker Razak Patrick and to be crown TUFA best player for the year 2013/2014 last week.
The Accra based player won two awards at this year’s ceremony at the Academy Complex last week after emerging as the top scorer with 11 goals and winning the most appearance player of the season award as well, featuring in all competitions for Tamale Utrecht[15] but could not even made the cut.
Nuhu’s frustration appears to have got the better of him since then and he has come out all guns blazing in a powerful interview with Sey Mubarick.
"I won everything, with the team and individually. I was the top scorer and made the most appearance but I still don’t understand why I couldn’t even make the cut” Nuhu said in an interview with tufaghanafc.com.
Salifu Nuhu meanwhile is looking forward to another tough season with the Tamale based team and believes they have established themselves as a force in the Zone 1A.
