TUFA RECORD FIRST VICTORY IN DIVISION ONE
Tamale Utrecht Football Academy Divison one side recorded their first victory today in the 2013/14 Division One league as they romped to a 3-0 win over Bolga All Stars at the Academy Complex. Goals from Abdulai M Mutala in the 9th minutes and a brace from striker Salifu Nuhu on the 54th and 77th minutes settled the game as Tamale Utrecht moved up to 4th place after four games.
The team had a shaky start to the season, losing their first match to Wa Africa United and then drawing two conservative matches against Guan United at home and Dynamos away .But the stakes were high for coach Mumuni Gamel who took over the position a month to the commencement of the league, and won against a well determined side.
Speaking to tufaghanafc.com, coach Gamel says the win is a moral booster ahead of their make or break encounter with RTU this Saturday.”I told my boys to get an early goal to unsettle them and that is what they did, the win is good because it will prepare us in our next encounter with RTU, the coach said”
TUFA will be looking forward for another victory to boost their push for a place in the middle league which management is supporting.
