REGIONAL FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION DECIDES IT’S CHAIRMAN

Delegates of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) will tomorrow decide between two candidates the next chairman of the association for the next four years. The successful candidate will also become an automatic member of the national football executive committee under the presidency of the Ghana Football Associaiton, Lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi.

Incumbent chairman of the NRFA Alhaji Adam Munkaila would be contested by his vice-chairman Mr. Karim Mahama Star in tomorrow’s elections scheduled to take place at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the verdict making congress, tufaghanafc.com can reveal that Mr. Karim Mahama Star seems to enjoy an overwhelming support from clubs and affiliated associations in the Tamale Metropolis whilst Alhaji Adam Munkaila takes solace from clubs outside the regional capital.

The next chairman of the regional body will have an ardous task to revive football in the region since the NRFA among other thing would be expected to introduce the division three league through the District Football Associations, improve on the standards of the division two league and thrive to raise the quality of clubs from the region participating in the zonal division one league to enable them compete favourably for qualification to the premier league.

About 100 delegates including Tamale Utrecht football club are expected to cast their votes to elect the next chairman of the Regional Football Association.
