FORMER RTU PLAYERS PLAY IN TUFA SHARE OF SPOILS IN FRIENDLY

Three former players of Real Tamale United were in action for Tamale Utrecht when they drew 1-1 with the soccer team of the University for Development Studies on Friday at Kasalgu.

Skilful midfielder Gildert Ayikade, Emos Acheampong and Baba Aklogu among other new players dominated the TUFA team that fought back to level the score after UDS had taken a lead in the game. Alhassan Salam converted from the spot 10 minutes to regulation time when Wenchi Unity FC attacker Alhassan was fouled in the area.

The highly entertaining friendly encounter proved a case for experience as the TUFA side exuded confidence and flair on the ball with the diamond combination of Gildert Ayikade, Emos Acheampong, Mohammed Fatawu Acapella and Alhassan.

Baba Aklogu who played at the left and right back positions in each half of the game respectively marked tight in defence and supported the attack in most cases.

Speaking to tufaghanafc.com, UDS Coach Paul was satisfied with the performance of his team as he fine tunes his team for the inter University games that starts on March 2, 2013.

According to TUFA head coach Osman Rashid, the team will break for 4 days and  resume on Tuesday March 5, 2013 ahead of the second round of the Polytank Division One League hoping to blend the young team with experience players.
