TUFA ENGAGES BEREKUM CHELSEA AFTER A SLIP IN TECHIMAN

2 January, 2013

Tamale Utrecht Football Academy was offered one of the best tests so far in their pre-season friendly matches when they lost 2-1 to Techiman Universal Stars in Techiman.

‘This is the best match so far in our pre-season matches’ TUFA technical director Jawhari said.

‘It has exposed all that we should know as a technical team to address the problems in the team before the commencement of the division one league.’ He continued ‘Universal played compact, aggressive and was very tactical blended with experience in the game’

The home side took the lead in the first half and added the second midway into the second half. TUFA Baba Mubarak capped his evening performance as a substitute for Hamisu Issah when he converted from the spot 10 minutes to regulation time.

With the clock ticking towards the end of the game, TUFA pushed more men forward in search of the equaliser but the resolute Universal defence and coupled with the agility of their goalkeeper denied TUFA of the much needed equaliser.

Tamale Utrecht continued their journey as they make a stop at Berekum as guest of 2010/2011 premier league champions Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday.
