TUFA TAMES RTU IN A FRIENDLY

The premiership readiness of Real Tamale United was brought to test by Tamale Utrecht Football Academy division one side at the Tamale Sports stadium after the two sides settled for a 1-1 draw in a game played for 80 minutes.

Referee Rashid whistled for the end of the match when it started raining with just 10 minutes of time remaining and that was after TUFA Striker Adam A. Basit hit the crossbar from a long drive much to the relief of Coach Mohammed Gargo.

RTU got first on the score sheet from Yussif Aziz who benefited from sloppy marking in the penalty area to beat goalkeeper Abdallah Yakubu.

The Kasalans were not daunted by the RTU lead and consolidated in midfield pivoted by Iddrisu Osman and Alidu Yakubu. Speedster Vincent Deyi surging runs in attack exposed the cracks in the Blues defence that was manned by Hanan Giwa. Deyi who was TUFA third attacker in the 4-3-3 formation created the equalizer after his pass was expertly placed into the net by Hanif Ibrahim to end the half at parity.

In the second half, TUFA deepened its creativity in midfield with the introduction of Hamdan Yakubu into the game who replaced Tuarik Musah in the 60^th minute. TUFA created some chances but poor finishing from Hamza Basit denied them a lead in the game.

The pride of the north got an advantage to score their second goal through a penalty but goalkeeper Yakubu Abdallah saved the controversial penalty awarded the blues.

TUFA Head coach Rashid Osman made two changes with the introduction of Abdulai Alhassan and Adam A. Basit for Hamza Basit and Alidu Yakubu respectively.

The highly intriguing encounter failed to produce any goals in the second half and was brought to an end with ten minutes left on the game.
