BLACK SATTELITES WIN IN 5 GOAL THRILLER
20 September, 2012
The National Under 20 side, the Black Satellite today beat Tamale Utrecht Football Academy 3-2 in an exciting friendly played on Wednesday at the Tamale sports stadium.
The match which was at the instance of the national side was staged to offer Coach Maxwell Konadu the opportunity to fine tune his squad ahead of a national assignment on Sunday at the Tamale sports stadium.
Both teams made early attempts at goal but without results until Francis Narh of the Black Satellite hit the back of the net from a lost attempt to play it safe by the TUFA defense.
The Kasalans quickly reorganized and opened up play in the wings forcing the satellites into their half. TUFA fought back into game when they drew parity through a strike from Vincent Deyi who connected in a half volley fashion.
A second goal from Vincent Deyi from mix-up in the Satellite defense gave TUFA the lead in the game.
The game was controlled at this stage by the division one side that enjoyed possession than their national counterparts. They however lost the steam towards the end of the first half committing a penalty which was converted by Francis Narh for his second goal to give his side an equalizer.
Jerimiah Afun capitalized on a defensive blunder to power the U-20 to a 3-2 lead to end the first half.
The two teams resumed the second half but with much difficulty for ball control due to torrential rains that marred the game until it was brought to an end.
