Tamale Utrecht to play on this field next season
The Chief Executive Officer of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Mr. Abdulai Alhassan has stated that the division one side will use the Kasalgu complex as its home grounds for the division one league and the MTN FA cup competition next season.
This was revealed at the awards night of the academy on Monday at the Kasalgu complex.’ Our field is ready to host competitive games and we shall thus apply to the GFA for use of the field for the division one league next season’ The CEO said.
He added that the team will be motivated for the next season and set a middle league play-off target for the academy next season.
The Technical Director, Arc. Jawhari Baba-Duah was optimistic that the pre-season preparations that the academy will embark upon after the one month break will properly condition the players ahead of the start of the season. He indicated that the academy played a total 34 matches in friendly, FA cup and the division one league last season and won 20, drew 6 and lost 8.Six of the matches lost were recorded in the division one league.
Jafaru A. Somed who emerged as the club’s most valuable player registered 11 goals in all matches, 5 of which were recorded in the division one league.
The academy is expected to begin a pre-season tour in the first week of September, 2012 in Sunyani.
