NATIONAL U-17 JUSTIFY ENDS AT TUFA COMPLEX

The technical team of the national Under 17 soccer side, the Black Starlets ended a two day justify exercise to select players for the national team at the Tamale Utrecht Football Academy complex on Tuesday.

The team that was led through the exercise by head coach Paa Kwasi Fabin undertook similar exercises in Wa and Bolgatanga in the weekend and are also schedule to hold a similar session in Sunyani on Wednesday.

About sixty players participated in the exercise that begun on Monday with players mainly drawn from the juvenile, the division two and the division one clubs.

The coach who was assisted by the starlet’s goalkeepers’ trainer Najawu Issah was excited over the level of competition and the depth of talent exhibited in the two day exercise by the players.

The Black starlets are expected to publish list of players selected from the national exercise on Friday for the players to report to Prampram for further trails.

The nationwide hunt for talents for the U-17 was motivated subsequent to the disqualification of 20 players from the Starlets camp from the MRI scans that revealed that their ages were above the Starlets age group.

The Ghana Football Association therefore embarked on the exercise to unearth young and talented players who shall also be carried through the MRI scans for another age verification exercise.
