The past months a lot of work has been done to prepare for the Junior High School that starts next week Tuesday. Three beautiful classrooms were built at the Tamale Utrecht Football Academy complex where the first twenty-five players will get their education and life skills training in the next three years.

Social Director Jolanda Goes is responsible for the school: “At the moment there are twenty-five backpacks in my office, filled with twenty-five packets with textbooks. These backpacks represent the beginning of something big and I am convinced that we are going to arrive at excellent results.”

After an extensive procedure six teachers have been employed. The candidates underwent a thorough job interview and gave a sample lesson. Subsequently two intensive trainings took place in the field of, among other things, child psychology, methods and preparation of classes.

The coming twelve weeks till summer holidays a bridging programme will be implemented, drawn up by a local education expert on the basis of tests taken by the TUFA students.

The classrooms are furnished and appeal to the imagination. “The fact that every student has his own textbook is an exception, let alone the numerous supporting materials and our talented and motivated teachers. We are going to turn it into the best Junior High School of Ghana”, says Jolanda Goes.
