RTU COMPLETES RECORD HOME WINS

The pride of the north, Real Tamale United today completed a hundred percent home wins after Hanan Giwa headed home to beat Yeij Juventus 1-0 at the Tamale sports stadium.

The win thus sealed qualification to the middle league for RTU that will meet teams from the Brong Ahafo region in the play-off for promotion to the premier league.

The unmatched home record of RTU does not however translate into the club away performance as the blues are yet to pick a point outside Tamale with only their last match to play next Saturday away to Bazooka FC in Wa.

RTU coach, Gargo Mohammed sat through today’s game watching his strikers turned away scoring opportunities though dominating play in the first half. Gargo was relieved of poor shooting upfront when his dependable defender and captain Hanan Giwa connected home from a corner kick.

The visitors however took control of midfield action in the second half and posed problems to the RTU defence but could not hold parity with their host until the match was brought to a close.

Yeji Juventus will have to beat Tamale Utrecht in Yeji in their last match to pick the last slot to the middle league play-off.
