TUFC EDGE PAST BAZOOKA IN TAMALE

6 May, 2012

Tamale Utrecht Football Club picked a 2-1 win over Wa Bazooka FC at the Tamale sports stadium on Sunday.

The visitors went down in the 19th minute after Jafaru A. Somed converted from the spot to give TUFC the lead. This was after Taurik Musah was pulled to the ground by Bazooka centre half in the penalty area.

The home side created more scoring opportunities with their passing game, playing most of the ball in their opponents half but failed to deliver the goals.

It was shocking however for Tamale Utrecht when their lead was cancelled through a well executed free kick of the ball that changed legs between two Bazooka attackers into the net with goalkeeper Wahab Danladi completely beaten ending the first half in parity.

Tamale Utrecht resumed the second half in search for a win to better their standings in the zone 1A league. TUFC Coach Muniru Aziz saved midfield dynamo Alhassan Kalusha from struggling further in the game when he was pulled out for Alidu Yakubu. He also introduced Alidu Mohammed Awal and Saeed Mutallib for Yakubu Hamdan and Wahab Mumin respectively.

The game which was under the control of TUFC was witnessed by an average crowd in the stands that got roared again by Iddrisu Osman second goal in the 50th minute. The TUFC screen midfielder jumped inside the penalty area to connect home a corner kick from left back Adam Ibrahim for the match winner.

Stop gap Coach Muniru Aziz was happy with the results but insist more work is needed to be done to lift the club from the corridors of relegation.
