RTU OPENS A 5-POINT LEAD AFTER DERBY WIN

Real Tamale United has opened a 5-point lead in the zone 1A league standings after thrashing Tamale Utrecht 3-0 on Sunday earning a derby double after 2-0 win in the first round against their host.

The pride of the north scored twice in the first against a struggling TUFC side that appeared exhausted in the early stages of the match.

However, Tamale Utrecht looked a bit composed in the second when Alhassan Kalusha was introduced into the game for struggling Mohammed Awal Issah. They however failed to create the chances upfront to cancel the lead.

RTU was able to contain the surge of TUFC in attack and succeeded in pushing men forward on attack that created problems for the TUFC defence, one of such attempts that gave RTU their third goal of the day.

In other results Juventus beat Bazooka 1-0 on Saturday. Guan United grabbed an away point in Bolgatanga against Upper East United after equalising a first half goal by the host.

Nandom Black Bulls rested for this weekend pairings.
