TUFA U-13 COMPETITION UNDERWAY

Tamale Utrecht Football Academy selection exercise for players not more than 13 years old got underway today at the Tamale sports stadium annex.
The exercise which has brought about 144 players from the Northern region, Upper West and Upper East regions kicked off with a match each in the morning and afternoon.
Northern Region- Group 1 (Tamale district) beat Northern region – Group 5 (Bimbilla district) 5-3 to book a place in the semi final with Upper East region that gained automatic semi final berth.
In the afternoon match, Northern region – Group 2 (Tamale district) also beat Northern region – Group 6 (Damongo district) 3 – 0 to get a place in the seminal final with the Upper West region.
The opening day competition was exciting with the demonstration of skill by the youngsters that dazzled the Tamale Utrecht technical team assisted by Coach Augustine Arhinful and Coach Mohammed Gargo.
Young and talented Inusah Adnan of Bagabaga FC playing for Northern region – Group 2 (Tamale district) might have won the opening day show after he scored from a 30 yard half volley to seal victory for his side.
The competition continues tomorrow morning with the two semi final matches.
The final match will be played later in the day.
