TUFC RETURNS HOME WITHOUT A LEAGUE CONTEST
06 March, 2012
Tamale Utrecht football club returned home on Tuesday evening after their host Bongo United, failed to make an appearance at Bolgatanga for the last matches of the first round of the division one league.
Bongo United now failed to make appearances in their last four matches and the Ghana Football Association are yet to make a decision on their conduct.
Tufaghanafc.com sources can revealed that the Bongo club is struggling to contend with the huge financial demand of the division one league since their intended sponsor pulled out after losing the support of the Bongo township to contest for the area parliamentary seat in the next political elections, hence their action.
The club could face possible sanctions from the Ghana Football Association if their failed appearances are established as a withdrawal from the competition by the GFA.
Subsequently their points build up with other clubs or vice versa would also be expunged in respect of matches played between Bongo United and the clubs prior to their withdrawal.
