Gushegu Allstars vs. TUFC

Gushegu Allstars FC, a division two side has failed to halt a pre-season 12-match unbeaten run of Tamale Utrecht football club in a pulsating 2-2 drawn match played at the Gushegu Park on Easter Sunday.

TUFC who made a three hour journey to Gushegu shook off early threats from their host in the early minutes of the game and scored the first goal of the match through Osman Iddrisu.Gushegu Allstars leveled the scores later; however TUFC went ahead scoring their second goal through Yussif Abdul Basit bringing the first half to an end.

However back from recess Gushegu Allstars desperation to find an equalizer had their efforts yielded when the referee awarded a late penalty to Gushegu Allstars to draw level with their visitors. Proceedings were brought to an end after both teams failed to grab the match winner.

The action packed game was witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd that cheered to the display of soccer by both sides and wishing that they witness another interesting and intriguing game exhibited at the park.

Speaking to tufaghanafc.com, the deputy CEO of TUFC expressed satisfaction over the organization of the match and the match results. He expressed delight over the performance of the team, commending the players for their resilience throughout the game.

The Regional Football association is yet to fix a date for the up-coming division two competitions. However TUFC has been involved in friendly matches to make up for the lost time that players would normally be engaged in football competitions.
