RTU CONTINUE FINE FORM IN PRE-SEASON

3rd December, 2011

Real Tamale United continue their form in their pre season matches when they beat 3rdtier side Liberty Babies 4-1 on Friday at the Tamale Sports Stadium. The result was the second for the pride of the north in just two days after thrashing Dynamos FC 5-0.

Two early goals in the 1stand 2ndminutes scored by Sakara Abdul Salim and third by Yaw Mensah Papilin in 4thminute proved difficult for Liberty coach Thomas Adjei to make a case in the game who was virtually using his reserve side in the match.

The Liberty coach had earlier sacked 6 of his regular players for arriving late for the match and presented a squad he barely trained for 4 days to face division one campaigners RTU.

Liberty however pulled a goal back in the second half but the RTU lead was stretched by veteran defender Hanan Giwa who stroke inside the penalty area to beat TUFC on-loan goalkeeper Abdulai Yakubu late in the game.

RTU coach Gargo Mohammed has a tough task to supervise the return of RTU to the premier league and he is so far building up the team confidence ahead of the division one league and the MTN FA cup.

Liberty Babies are also participating in the MTN FA cup and were drawn to play away to Yagbon FC in far away Berekum.
